Exciting day to have this coordinated effort of our members to get better signage in this area. We have seen many tragedies in this location and hoping these signs will provide the information about the dangers of the strong currents at Bate Island.

Another photo of the school yard. We’ve all seen the distancing markers in the malls but these ones struck me of how different school will be. I am bothered by how the unions are not promoting everything that our educators are capable of handling. I do appreciate the teachers challenging the policy decision makers, but realistically we need the kids to get back to school and make sure everyone is staying safe. I am also VERY empathetic to those who are immune compromised a...nd have faced incredible sadness and loss due to #covid_19. I recently walked through a school yard that hasn’t had children playing in it since March. It was a reminder of what an impact these times have been on our children.
