If your ever wondering where we get all the cool stuff in our office ... It is often dropped off by buddies of Chris & Shane. Thanks for the 20 Year old hockey card Dave Butler!
Old Ford is coming along, should be ready just in time for winter.
So as to not leave Chris out, he also got a visit from Dinky and Ryan O'Reilly ........ and had the wherewithal to get a little Chris & Shane's advertising in as well!
Not sure which is cooler ..... that my grade 9 Geography teacher randomly visited our new spot today or that he brought Ryan O'Reilly with him. Quick visit turned into a photo shoot when the the construction crew outside figured out one of the current Stanley Cup champions was in the house! Thanks again Paul Douros.
This is how they build Jeep's and a good example why original paint is best. The original application processes and conditions can never be performed in the aftermarket.
Some days are EASY days, got a nice card from a friend, followed by a quick chat with the head coach of the Soo Greyhounds Mr. John Dean, immediately followed by a customer bringing me in Final Game at Maple Leaf Gardens and The First Game at ACC magazines because he noticed I collect things. Even better, the customer who gave me the magazines actually sold them both nights, then told me a story about a basement and garbage bags full of money. Cannot say anymore as I am sworn to secrecy.
Something to consider when buying a new vehicle!
Chris & Shane's NEW 1919 Shop Truck
It can be frustrating when customers find themselves in the awkward position of needing to replace their vehicles after a car accident. Once your Insurance Co. deems your vehicle a total loss, you are given very little time to replace it before they want their rental car returned. Do not be pressured into buying a vehicle you are not happy with from uncooperative salespeople. There seems to be enough of them out there that I am seriously considering creating a service for my customers in which we help them with the task.
Just read this a few hours after watching a tow truck doing at least 100 km per hour down Warden Ave. most likely going to a accident scene. Tow truck getting to the scene in a reckless fashion serves no purpose. https://www.thestar.com//end-first-available-or-first-on-s
Thanks to Spiderman @ www.signs.ink for our long overdue signage. Only took us 21 years to come up with this a graphic we liked. LED's should look great at night!
Did not verify if this is true but makes sense when you think about it? Apparently fact-checkers have found this to be partly false ....... but I still have not verified that!
Yes, all those wondering, we do steam clean commonly touched surfaces on vehicles in for service.
What we do to your vehicle while in for servicing @ Chris & Shane's.
Believe it or Not. Chris can make something cool out of this pile of old parts. 1929 Ford Model A Roadster
Chris getting the CBX presentable for it's first ride in many years.
One of the benefits to this slowdown is Chris & Shane's can get into some of their many projects like this 1919 Ford Model T pick up they have been storing for over a year now.
Pulled a few more out of storage today, Chris hates the seat on this one, I like it and think it looks comfortable, party in the front . business in the rear.
When you get tired of all the streaking the Lysol disinfecting wipes are leaving on your waiting room furniture.
Steam cleaning commonly touched area during servicing.
Hard to believe they actually put a 6 carb 6 banger on a motorcycle in 1979! Seeing as gas is cheap now maybe we will bring this BADBOY out this summer.
This quarantine has me realizing why my dogs get so excited about something moving outside, going for walks or car rides. I think I just barked at a squirrel!#180BIZ
Coronavirus: Ontario releases list of essential workplaces and services Chris & Shane's has been deemed a essential service and will continue to operate by appointment only. We are taking all the necessary precautions to prevent transmission and are offering local pick up and drop off of vehicles for customers currently in isolation due to health concerns.
Not a doctor .. but this is what our team is following regarding Corona Virus.
Zero maintenance dog!
Occasionally we are able to put two customers together that otherwise may have never met, and the outcome is beneficial to both. Congrats to Craig and Amy on their new WHIP and congrats to Anne on no more car insurance payments! We all wish we could say that one day.
4 More Sleeps Till We Get Our Hands On This Diamond In The Rough! Whoever owns this Honda CRV needs to find a new parking spot by Saturday. Chris & Shane are coming to the neighbourhood!
Just in time for Christmas .. We will have to put this one under the tree in the back yard.
While we are busy installing winter tires, this guy is greeting customers at the front counter!
Remember that Chris & Shane are always interested in local, safe, secure, indoor storage for their vehicle collection addiction .. Let us know if you have any available storage areas.
Apparently tire rotations in the States are a la carte . you have to pay extra to have your lug nuts tightened!
Rudy & Byron supervising the concrete work being done in front of the shop today. YES Raffi . I guess that would mean that I am actually supervising them!
Sometimes . when you depend on your vehicles onboard service reminder to let you know the condition and level of your oil, instead of the mileage sticker (that has worked for the last 30 years) your engine BLOWS UP! $4,000.00 later you realize the benefits of changing oil based on the recommendation of your Service Technician.
Thanks Dave Watford for the colourful upgrade to our front entrance bench. Better put my order in for a couple more, I am now worried someone might steal this one!
Buyer Beware ...... Just because a good friend of yours sells you a vehicle that is in great shape (in his opinion) does not mean you skip having it inspected by a qualified technician. Today we performed a vehicle inspection on a 2008 vehicle after the customer purchased and transferred ownership into his name. Notice that from the outside this vehicle appears to be in good condition but once inspected reveals that the under body is in very poor condition. Because the customer decided to get the inspection performed after he transferred the vehicle into his name and paid all the taxes ..... he now is the unhappy owner of a vehicle that would cost more than it is worth to put on the road
