FYI - I wanted to provide an update - see below. I want to thank all of our Niagara MPPs, Jennie, Jeff, Wayne and Sam for advocating for Niagara. Unfortunately, the sad part is they should not have needed to, especially with 100k vaccines still sitting in freezers in Ontario.

Unbelievable and completely unacceptable. With outbreaks at hospitals under this control and health care workers risking their lives every day, Dr Stewart's actions demonstrate contempt for them and for our community.

Businesses can now apply for the new Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS), which would help cover up to 65% of the rent for businesses who’ve been hard hit by the pandemic. The new Lockdown Support will also provide an additional 25% for those who have been subject to a lockdown under a mandatory public health order. This month is going to feel grim, but I don't want us to lose sight that there will be an end. We’re on track to have well over a million vaccine doses from Pfizer and Moderna by the end of January. Some more good vaccine news. The AstraZeneca vaccine is up to 90% effective. It's a cheaper and easier to distribute than other vaccines. Canada has purchased 20 million doses.

In November, the Prime Minister announced the creation of a $20 million fund to distribute financial aid to help Veterans groups with their costs and incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. It will help local Legions with their important mandate to help veterans in Niagara.
