The Home Straight is Chrissy Nickerson’s newest collection of paintings, marking the end of a transformative year for this artist both personally and in her p...ractice. In direct response to post-lockdown freedoms, she set out across the country to capture rugged experiences on the land. The results were immersive, explosive celebrations of form and colour in the Canadian landscape, from Algonquin to Vancouver Island. Now home in the mountains, there is a contented quiet in her final body of work for 2020.....the home stretch in a year of exploration and uncertainty.
