Stop cryingsay I can see this is hard for you.... You’re finesay Are you doing okay? Be quiet sayCan you use a softer voice? Stop yellingsay Take a deep breath. Tell me what happened. Don’t hitsay Please be gentle. Don’t get upset...say It’s okay to feel sad. That’s enough...say Do you need a hug? Don’t interrupt....say Remember how to get my attention? Stop whining...say Use your big, clear voice. Let me do it...say "Would you like some help?" Don’t say that...say "Can you choose some kinder words?" Instead of reacting... Stay calm and respond with confidence. Instead of dwelling Respond in the moment, and move on. Instead of ignoring Stay close and emotionally available. Instead of shaming Encourage all feelings. Instead of guilting Remember, behaviour is communication.
