Big news over here today is we’ve got a new website! I’ve been pulling night shifts pretty steady over here the last few months to get this project in p...lace, with lots of help from our stellar team member Victoria and amazing photographer Kim King over at Dreaming of Light Photography and of course Kari and the team holding things together at the store so I could work on it! The main reason we made the switch is to give all of you lovely customers a better user experience while placing online orders and to build more convenient delivery options into the system for you. Now you can much more control over when you get certain items and it will help our team organize more efficiently in the back-end which will hopefully make it overall an even better customer experience for you! As of now we have expanded our delivery area to include WILLIAM LAKE and all spots in between on the highway, and we now go as far north as HIXON and deliver to all homes along the highway between Quesnel and Hixon as well. We still, naturally, deliver to all the areas in and around Quesnel and Wells as we have for the last few years! Another convenient change with the new site is that you no longer need a PayPal account to have automatic payments - you can simply provide a card number. E-transfer or pay on pick-up is still an option for payment. If you had an account in our old system you will be receiving an email today with all the details on how to login to your new account and start shopping! We anticipate there may be a few hiccups while we transition over so we do ask for your understanding while we make this change - we are doing our absolute darndest to make sure nothing slips through the cracks but it is a really big change for us so you never know! Meet our BCYF Member of the Week, Robyn Burt from Dragon View Angus in Quesnel, BC. Robyn and her partner run a purebred Black Angus herd, alongside her family...’s angus influenced commercial cow/calf operation. She is also a director on the Quesnel Cattlemen’s Association and a director on the BC Angus Association. Robyn was a proud 4-H member for 11 years and continues to support the program as much as possible. They are also Verified Beef Production Plus and have completed their Environmental Farm Plan. Robyn is continually striving to become more progressive on her farming operation by utilizing programs such as artificial insemination and embryo transfer programs. They use these methods to introduce high quality genetics into the herd and in turn, by selling those premium bulls and cows/heifers within our region. Robyn feels incredibly lucky to have some of the best mentors in the industry, who share a common passion for cattle, and the angus breed. With these advisors, Robyn feels that she is able to offer a fresh perspective to the industry with new ideas and concepts from a young woman’s point of view. Today’s a big day around here! We’ve got a new cooler for our produce thanks to these guys (and a few others) who have been working round the clock since last w...eek to get this running for us before all our produce arrives today! We only had a a small window of time between deliveries to get it built and these guys handled it like the champs they are! Up until now we have been using coolers that are way too small for what we need and we have gotten by but it is because of so much effort and work by my staff to be resourceful and creative when it comes to maximizing space. This new cooler will be a game changer for us and mean that we have the capacity to continue to grow.
