I have to admit, I am playing catch-up on book promo - this month and in general. I've been waiting on a paperback copy of The Electric Girl to kick things off. It’s been a hard year. I’m grateful for the little things more than I usually am this holiday season. Little things like my children’s school doing an art card fundraiser. (Let’s be honest, I’m just glad the school reopened.) But I hope everyone reading this post gets to have some of these moments over the next few weeks. 2021 is coming. And when the New Year dawns, the sun will come out. Cheers from my family to yours!

While kicking around setting ideas for my new magic realism book, The Electric Girl, I realized pretty quickly I would be jointly creating two spaces. Firstly, a version of the world as I knew it (and I decided to indulge once more in my home region, BC’s Okanagan) in the late 1980s. Secondly, I would need brief glimpses at alternate dimensions. But since this is Part 1, let’s start with The Real World.

Happy Halloween! This year brings a blue moon, fairytale fabrications and the tail end of an overdue substantive edit for The Electric Girl. I've been surprisingly busy and productive this fall and even though I don't have all my work exactly where I want it to be, I'm looking at the glass half full today. Things are moving forward! That's the important thing.
