The most common mistake I see in my day to day is an area carpet that is too small for the space it was intended to adorn. Quite often they look like a postage stamp and that is not the proportion required to create the desired effect within a design. There is an art to selecting the perfect compliment in an area carpet. An area carpet can be the starting point of a design scheme or it can be the final touch tying all of the selections together. Well I am here to tell you we can customize the size and the colors that are to go into it, right down to the precise percentage of each color! This is the time of year that Benjamin Moore reveals the color of the year for 2021. This year they have selected the beautiful Aegean Teal 2136-40. It’s definitely a bold choice with a serene vibe. A years worth of exploring culture, fashion and design is how the color is selected. I’m pleasantly surprised by the choice as I feel it is a highly workable color that can be placed in many different spaces. It is both traditional and contemporary in flavor. It’s extremely versatile and I can’t wait to start incorporating this color into my designed spaces. It doesn’t need to be on the walls, It can be a hint in my fabrics or a bold infusion in a wallpaper. However I use this I am sure it will be welcomed and adored!
