Bow Valley Christmas Spirit Campaign

Santa is on holidays, but wants to thank everyone who made this year's Campaign such a resounding success! The families and individuals who received hampers and gift cards had a brighter Christmas thanks to a very generous community! Happy New Year, goodbye 2020!

The toys are all unwrapped, festive dinners are in the oven and there is a glow around Canmore from the generosity of people like you. People who donate to help us help others! May your turkeys be moist, your gravy not lumpy, your stretchy pants fit nicely and most of all, hmmm, this doesn't rhyme, but your hearts be full of Christmas love! Thank you Canmore, Merry Christmas!

This year, thanks to our very generous community, we provided families and individuals with gift cards and toys for children. Below are the numbers, but they don't tell the stories of what the hampers meant to the people who received them. Our program is confidential, so we can't reveal identifying information. What we can tell you is that there will be happy children with toys to unwrap and parents who are relieved to have a festive meal for their families. Some very wonderful things happened this week. Here are some notes from our Chairperson, Hannah DeSoto.... On Monday, December 14th while a few volunteers were working on distributing the Christmas hampers, Canmore McDonalds showed up with coffee and treats. What a wonderful surprise for our hardworking elves. On Tuesday, December 13th, we received a call from Stratton's Jewellery to let us know they had some toy and cash donations for us. The money that would have been spen...t on a Christmas party was coming to us this year. On Wednesday, December 16th, we received an email from Strides Running Store that they had another collection of toys for our hampers. This was in addition to a big haul last week. Thank you to Strides and your runners for your generous contribution again this year. More news to come!
