"Mine are tears in times of sorrow, Darkness not yet understood; Through the valley I must travel, Where I see no earthly good. But mine is peace that flows from heaven,... And the strength in times of need; I know my pain will not be wasted, Christ completes his work in me. "Mine are days here as a stranger, Pilgrim on a narrow way; One with Christ I will encounter, Harm and hatred for His name. But mine is armour for this battle, Strong enough to last the war; And He has said He will deliver, Safely to the golden shore." From "Christ Is Mine Forevermore," by CityAlight.

Afternoon all. Here is a planned and brief follow-up from this weekend's message on Ephesians 4:11-12: Part 1/2 We could spend many months on the topic of evangelism, but to make it simple, what we read in Scripture is that our lives will be a witness, either good or bad, regardless of whether we think we are "evangelizing" or not. ... The words we use, our body language, our attitudes, and our emotions all bear witness to Christ (if we are calling ourselves by His name). The encouraging part is that this means we are always evangelizing, and we need only be able to give a reason for the hope that is in us; the discouraging part is that we are always evangelizing, so our simplest actions and words will be a witness to Christ, for good or ill. However, even when we are discouraged because of our missteps, the Father calls us back to Him, through conviction in the Spirit, covered in the blood of the Son. Ever and always is there reconciliation in Christ. And this is our great witness: that even sinners like us need Jesus, and have Jesus. Our lives themselves are the examples of what it means to be forgiven in Christ, ever and always. And so we walk in our weakness and brokenness, ever and always pointing to the Saviour who in His gracious mercy saved us.

In the midst of a pandemic that is bringing death to the forefront of our minds, let us not become slaves to the fear that holds the rest of the world in its grip. Christ has paid our ransom, and has freed us from the fear of death; we need not let fear determine our actions. Let the Word command us, not the fear of death...
