Working on this project gave me so much joy as I was pushed out of my element by creating a farmhouse/shabby chic style for a client who just inherited this home form her dad who sadly passed away. New flooring, added a bright new kitchen with butcher block top on the island with ship lap herringbone pattern details on the sides, live wood framed out cabinetry under the farm house sink, natural honed back splash and ceasar stone counter with glass shelving cabinets (notice th...e two way view I created in the cabinets!) topped off with some glass hardware for a little feminine touch! Bringing in the live wood from the kitchen into the family room really pulls these two spaces together. The live wood shelves flanking the iron fireplace with beadboard paneling, another detail of herringbone pattern in the stone work and placing the TV to the right makes the fireplace and mantel the focal point of this room. Not only did I get to work on the renovation side but I was also ecstatic to work with her on the decorating side of things using her personal heirlooms with new items. It was a challenge but its a warm cozy environment with views of farm land that surround this home.
