Tips for Parenting During the Holidays After Separation or Divorce 1. Clarify the holiday time each parent will have with their child(ren) in advance. 2. In most cases, each parent gets to have a special holiday celebration with their child(ren). Remember that one celebration is not better or worse than the other. ... 3. Do not put the other parent down or talk negatively about the other parent during your parenting time. 4. Focus on your child(ren). Ask them what they want to do, and spend quality time with them while they are with you. 5. Create new holiday traditions. Take a walk, watch a special movie, build a gingerbread house. This is your time to create and enjoy new holiday traditions as a family. Happy & safe holidays to all! #happyholidays #spectrumfamilylaw #helpingfamilies #parentingafterseparation #parentingafterdivorce #parenting #jointcustody #postsarenotlegaladvice #yycfamilylawyer #cindymarshall #familylaw #yyc #alberta #
