Do you know local people in need of a boxed lunch! Mustard Seed (791 Queen Street East) is providing boxed lunches on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (11:30 - 1:30). Please help spread the word and let people know? Thanks! Lets take care of ourselves and each other...

Hi all, first time poster here. I'm an essential service worker (shelter worker) who has to be out and about. While shopping I'm still seeing a shocking number ...of seniors out and about. I'm wondering if any of you are or know some of these seniors who maybe have no option but to do their own shopping. I'd like to offer to do it for you. I could probably only do this one day a week or biweekly but if you're immunocompromised or elderly and in the donlands and Danforth area, I'd be happy to drop off some groceries for you, no contact necessary. I'll even wear gloves when I drop your bags off so you won't have to worry about exposure. Also, if there are other, more relevant groups I should post about this in that I might not know about, feel free to make recommendations! See more

The following was sent to the Daily Bread Food Bank, Councillors Bradford, Fletcher, Wong-Tam, MPP Tabuns, Horwath The first picture is of the food issued by on...e of a Daily Bread bank in East York. 3 carrots, 3 potatoes, staler than stale bread and a few other items. Upon calling 211, the operator said to call Daily Bread Food Bank [DBFB] Head Office a call since they had no information on how people could get food this weekend or in the near future. City Councillors in the area are providing times for DBFB when next to nothing is available. Salvation Army have not returned calls for over a week. yet say they're open. St Vincent de Paul is not returning phone calls. St Annes on Gerrard, closed their Saturday operation for take out lunches. Only food bank 211 recommended was https://www.saidhamfoodbank.com/ in Mississauga - phone message is, "Customer not available". This info is provided by our most awesome City Councillor Paula Fletcher, https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/ The City of Toronto is working with community organizations to identify where the greatest needs are and how best to ensure that low income and vulnerable residents continue to have access to food. FOOD The City of Toronto is working with community organizations to identify where the greatest needs are and how best to ensure that low income and vulnerable residents continue to have access to food. https://www.toronto.ca/ho/covid-19/covid-19-social-support/ Inquiry sent to Second Harvest who's received tonnes of food from Scotia Arena that hasn't yet shown up at food banks. Councillor Fletcher's and Bradford's were asked to approach the Mayor to help Food Banks financially. So far, City Councillors have only asked the public to donate, but the verdict is out on whether the City will help financially help the NGO's.directly.
