As part of our 1forALL program and in support of our partnership with the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society - Meet Safiya! We are yarning to get Safiya into h...er very own forever home! This shy lady came to us in the spring of 2019 and she was extremely fearful at that time. It takes her longer than most kitties to warm up to 'mew' humans in her life, but once she gets comfortable with her surroundings, Safiya slowly settles in. Sadly she has been bounced around quite a bit as she can be a bit picky of her feline friends and prefers them to be confident but calm as well as be respectful of her purrsonal space! She would be best suited in a home without any dogs or children due to her fearfulness. Safiya is seeking an experienced home and cat lover who is willing to put in the time and effort to build a strong and stable relationship with her. Her favourite perch is on top of the highest cat tree (or fridge or cabinets) so she can work on sharpening her "eagle eyes" and safely observe her surroundings. We think the real reason is that she prefers to be called "Your Highness", but that's solely suspect! If you've got wet food in hand, that's her favourite trust-building tool! Once she gets close enough, Safiya sure does enjoy a good head scratch too! If you’re looking for a loving, beautiful cat who is asking for your patience, kindness and unconditional love, Safiya is the purrfect cat for you.
