Frozen Pipes? Here is what you should do. 1. Open a faucet and leave it open (this helps monitor progress, and relieves pressure on the blockage). 2. Turn the heat up in the residence a few more degrees (it helps).... 3. Try to assess where the pipe is frozen, and if there is damage. 4. Locate the main water shut-off valve, close and open it to confirm proper operation. You may need to close this if the line bursts. If the valve will not operate, Stop!, and call a Plumber (Citadel) immediately. 5. Set up multiple plug-in heaters at the point of blockage. Wrap the line in Heat Trace, and monitor the situation for a bit. 6. If none of these steps solve the issue, feel free to call Citadel Mechanical and we will be happy to assist. 780-875-9444
