For Edmonton-based actor and multi-disciplinary artist, Jesse Lipscombe, preserving the history of Amber Valley, Alberta is vitally important. As a fifth-generation Albertan and descendant of Black farmers from the U.S., he reflects on the community's significance to his life and art. https://youtu.be/SJBR1yDzZes

This weekend marks the end of production on something very special... For the past two weeks, an incredible team of technicians, carpenters, costumers, stage managers, camera operators, and storytellers have been working in the Rice Theatre to keep Edmonton's holiday theatre tradition alive from our stage to your home. It's beginning to look a lot like A Christmas Carol! https://www.citadeltheatre.com/2020/a-christmas-carol... Stay tuned this week for some big announcements. Update Regarding New Measures Announced Nov. 12 Thursday evening, the Government of Alberta announced new targeted measures that affect arts and fitness activities in urban centres. As professional performance venues are exempted from this policy due to our increased public health measures, our onstage programming is continuing as planned. A Brimful of Asha will close on the Shoctor stage this Sunday, and we begin performances of the gorgeous new adaptation of Mary's Wedding ...on November 28. Because the exemption currently applies only to professional performance activities, all in-person Foote Theatre School classes on November 14 and 21 have moved online effective immediately and will re-evaluate for the final week of the term as new guidance is announced. Patron, artist, staff, and public health are - as always - of the utmost importance to our team. We have taken significant measures to rise to the challenge this pandemic presents to still allow live audiences in our building. Only 100 audience members will be seated in the nearly 700-seat Shoctor Theatre, masks are required at all times, ticketing has moved to digital or print-at-home, and more detailed in the video below. We hope you will be able to join us. We also recognize that due to varying risk levels, not everyone is able to take their seat in the theatre. Stay tuned next week for some incredibly exciting news about new ways you can enjoy live theatre from the Citadel! Thank you for being part of the Citadel family - with your help, the show will go on. TICKETS: https://www.citadeltheatre.com/tickets MORE SAFETY INFO: https://www.citadeltheatre.com/keepingyousafe
