Continuing our Australian theme this week, our Wine of the Week is the Bill Downie Petit Verdot from Australia's Yarra Valley. Also included in this month's case club, this wine from an organic, biodynamic vineyard is bright, juicy and fresh, with a hint of rustic tannin. Happy #HugelDay! Since 2009, Hugel Day puts the spotlight on wines from the Alsace region in France that come from the Hugel Family. The origins of the Hugel family can be traced back to 1639, where they were pioneers in winegrowing in the Alsace region. The brand is widely renowned throughout France and internationally, with the goal of making Alsace wine the great white wine of the 21st century. We're particular fans of this Hugel Gentil, a blend of aromatic grapes that goes perfect with seafood!

Vilmart Grand Cellier Brut - $93.99 Vilmart is one of the most respected grower Champagne houses in the region. The Grand Cellier Brut is their premium non-vintage blend - full of finesse and showing the richness Vilmart is known for, it is alluring from the very first taste with peach skin and slivered almond. Tasty ...now - but will age well too. Bourdy Cremant du Jura - $33.99 Only about 10% of the wine produced in Jura, France (a region squeezed in between Burgundy and Switzerland) is exported and we are super lucky to have Jean Bourdy in Alberta. Bourdy, one of France's eldest winemaking families, has created an engaging, traditional method sparkler from 100% Chardonnay with apple, pear and fig notes with ginger and toast on the finish. La Tordera Alne Prosecco - $20.99 Quintessential Prosecco, from another multi-generational family winery. Fruity and fresh bouquet of green apple and pear, along with floral and vanilla overtones make for a balanced, fresh and lively sparkler. Perfect for all parts of New Year's Eve, from an aperitif to the midnight toast!

It's #WineWednesday and our wine of the week, the "Tendu", hails from Matthiasson Wines, a family-run California winery that farms using organic practices. It's mighty tasty, with aromas of earth, red fruit and spice, plus super fresh and juicy red fruit flavours.
