SEEKING CONSUMER TESTIMONIALS Are you the satisfied owner of a residential air source heat pump or of a home, or building, that has completed an extensive home energy retrofit? The Residential Retrofit Acceleration Project, a project of City Green Solutions and the Home Performance Stakeholder Council, is looking to showcase the economic, environmental, and comfort benefits of air source heat pumps and/or deep home energy retrofits. We want to hear about why you appreciate y...our energy efficient home. You can help spread awareness and encourage other community members to improve the energy efficiency of their home, switch to a heat pump, save energy and money, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and increase the comfort of their homes. Your voluntary participation in this testimonial series could include: Providing a short quote about why you like your heat pump and/or energy efficient home Having a photographer come to your home to take a suitable photo to accompany your quote. BC Hydro and City Green are looking for business participants for a trial program offering free wireless smart water heater controllers with leak detection. Water heater controllers have the potential to help reduce demand on the electricity grid, and may help you save energy and money on your electricity bills. The business must operate within Victoria, Sidney, North Saanich, Central Saanich, Saanich, Oak Bay, or Esquimalt, and must not have health or safety restrictions relating to minimum hot water temperatures. A carbon capture unit was installed at the Lush Cosmetics North America headquarters in Vancouver, as part of the FortisBC Carbon Capture Pilot Project. The technology captures excess heat and emissions released from gas heating equipment and turns it into a useful bi-product. Read more about the pilot project below!
The Oil to Heat Pump Program has been extended! The program will be running until September 1, 2018, or until funds are exhausted. Homeowners can receive up to $1700 for replacing their oil heating system to an electric heat pump.
