NEWS RELEASE - Earlier today Bruno Tassone tendered his resignation from his role as Mayor of the City of Castlegar. Council and staff are processing this news and are committed to ensuring the services residents expect from the City are not disrupted and restoring the City’s full Council complement. With the Mayor’s resignation, Council will appoint a Chief Election Officer. As per the Local Government Act, a by-election will be held within 80 days of the appointment of the... We're seeing record quantities of recycling this week so Waste Management's trucks are running behind schedule. They're working hard & late to clear the backlog. If your recycling is missed, please put it out the day after your scheduled pick-up day.

Wow, what a night Santa had! He toured around and couldn't believe all the amazing lights and decorations. Way to go, everyone....we sure live in a creative community! Winners will be announced in the December 24 edition of the Castlegar News.
