The City of Summerside is conducting a Transit Study to better understand the role of transit in our community and to identify potential cost-effective mobility options to meet the travel needs of residents. This could include rethinking the existing bus routes or introducing more flexible (on-demand) transit services. Whether you currently take transit or not, your opinion is important to us. Please take a moment to fill out a short online survey to describe your existing t...ravel patterns and your thoughts on the role that public transit may play in and around Summerside. The survey is confidential and should take less than ten minutes to complete Thanks in advance for your participation. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SummersideTransit

As council's term approaches its halfway mark this fall, I'd like to remind you all of my Resident Feedback survey. It's likely been buried over the last few mo...nths, so I'll repost here and pin to the top of my page. It's specifically for residents of Ward 2, but definitely open to residents across The City of Summerside. In the coming months leading up to December, I'll be distributing cards with the same information for those not on social media. Shoutout to Cory Snow Ward 4 - Clifton Market for revitalizing this initiative to reach residents! Bruce MacDougall and I also plan to hold our second Open House event as soon as CPHO guidelines permit.

We are starting to receive some power calls. We have begun investigating and will keep the Facebook Page, Twitter & Our Website updated with outages. On behalf of Summerside Electric we hope everyone is staying safe.
Reminder: If you have a power outage or water/sewer emergency, please call 902-432-1268; do NOT call the police or fire departments. Please charge your phones, fill water bottles, and look out for your neighbours. The City will use Facebook and Twitter to update residents with any necessary developments and it will also contact PEI EMO who will update the media should a reception centre need to open in the event of long-term, widespread power outages. #ReadyForTeddy

With Teddy arriving this week, it’s a good reminder for us all to check our smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. It will be especially important to practice safe g...enerator use and to be extra careful with candles and cooking appliances if we experience any power outages.- PEI Fire Marshal Dave Rossiter Simple (but important) fire prevention tips for everyone: Regularly change batteries for all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Practice home fire drills with all household members. Keep anything that can burn at least three feet away from heating equipment. Never leaving any cooking appliance unattended. The Canadian Hurricane Centre expects that Hurricane Teddy will be a very dangerous tropical storm as it moves through our region Tuesday into Wednesday. This ...can mean strong winds, heavy rains and coastal areas may see flooding and storm surges. With the leaves still on the trees, there is a higher likelihood of branches breaking, or trees falling on power lines. Be prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 3 days, and up to 5 days. Please remember we are also in a public health emergency and COVID-19 safety measures must still be followed. Follow local media and Environment Canada for weather updates https://weather.gc.ca/warnings/index_e.html?prov=pei Check out our webpage for lots of information on how you can be prepared, and ways you can help protect your family and your property www.PrinceEdwardIsland.ca/EPGuide Prince Edward Island Government #hurricaneteddy (this image is effective 6 am Sept 19)
