We are excited about the results from our green cart pilot so far! Almost 96 tonnes of food and yard waste has been collected. That’s the weight of 96 moose - wow! Pilot participants have increased their residential diversion rate to 51.7 per cent by using their green carts. When implemented city-wide, green carts will help move Regina closer to our goal of diverting 65 per cent of residential waste from the landfill.

Beware of thin ice! With the weather warmer than a typical November, please stay off ice surfaces, including Wascana Lake and creek, storm channels, detention ponds and recreational lakes in residential areas. Adults are asked to caution children about ice safety and remind them that the ice is not safe for walking, skiing or skating.... Do not attempt a rescue if your pet breaks through the ice. You will be putting yourself and others in danger. Call Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 if you see people, particularly children, close to thin ice. In an emergency involving people or pets, call 9-1-1.

Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, October 17, Dewdney Avenue from Bentley Drive and Brown Street will be closed to traffic for one day for asphalt repairs. Restrictions will be in place while the asphalt cures, then removed early Sunday morning.

Starting on Monday, Regina Transit will expand mask distribution so passengers can mask up to keep COVID numbers down. Staff will distribute masks to passengers who don't have one at these locations during peak ridership, weekdays 6-9 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. 11th Ave between Lorne St and Rose St (both sides of street)... This two-year, $6 million project contributes to a vibrant neighbourhood with lighting and furnishings distinct to Regina’s downtown. Thank you to residents, businesses and visitors for your patience during this project. Enhancements include:... Catch basins and sewer access repairs. Intersection improvements with larger curbs for pedestrian safety. Streetscape improvements with new boulevards and wider sidewalks on the north side. Installation of new black powder coated traffic signal poles and enhanced street lighting. 80 new trees planted in the boulevards.
