Through ourselves we learn about all others; indeed it is the only way. Without this personal exploration (and struggle) in artwork, the depth is lost, as is the potential for others to connect to the work in a meaningful way. "The Artist is no other than he who unlearns what he has learned, in order to know himself; and the agony of the Artist...arises from his own personal struggle to discover, to appreciate and finally to express himself."
The latest #sundaypoetry titled Low Tide is up on my blog #horizontomeridian. It's about love, copper wire, and the rhythm of the tides. I post a new poem every Sunday (usually one I wrote that week) as a supporting practice for my visual art and post it for those who like often dark and sometimes strange imagery: http://bit.ly/1Vqwqle
