Please be advised there is a Severe Storm Alert in effect in Central and Southern Alberta for July 23, 2020. Storms are predicted to form near the foothills, with the main area of concern for development lying between High River and Red Deer, moving towards the east through the evening. The main peril of concern with this alert is hail, but there could also be strong wind gusts and heavy downpours. The Alberta Severe Weather Management Society Hailcast model predicts hail up to 1.5 cm in diameter in Calgary this afternoon and evening, and 3.3 cm in diameter in Red Deer.
