Looking back at the cakes we had this past season (which was way more than we had in 2018). I have enjoyed the simplicity of the cakes with some being made by the brides themselves or friends/family. The symbolism of the cake is either to share good wishes to all the guests or it has also been know to represent the two becoming one, hence the couple cutting the cake together. One of my favourite garden flowers is the poppy. We have them growing in our garden here at CJ. They are a reminder to me in the early summer about what they are known to represent. I am extremely grateful to my relatives who served their country and to all of the men and women who have and who continue to serve and protect this country willingly. This has to be one of my new favourite spots to have a ceremony. Guests sit under the large maple tress which shade them from the hot summer sun like yesterday’s (32 degrees).
