Today we took the first full breath in what feels like forever. The fresh air rushed in and began the healing. We exhaled the toxic. We woke from a living nightmare. Now we celebrate and rest our weary hearts.... Then we ask...now what? He represented white supremacy, rape culture, misogyny, homophobia, ableism and so much more. He amplified it. He did not create it. 70 million people voted for him. There is work to do, and all of the things he represented lives in Canada too. My province has a premier who condemned the defacing of a statue that represented colonialism, but said nothing of hate crimes occuring in his own province. He is cutting healthcare and whitewashing our kids curriculum. Rest well my friends, for tomorrow we rise. #togetherrising #heal #rest #getuntamed

The world is dealing will a collective traumatic experience right now. It's hard, heavy, and undeniable. Then we take a deep breath of crisp fall air, see the leaves, hear the crunch and witness the trees letting go. ... Today we wear orange shirts to honour residential school survivors and acknowledge the trauma inherent in colonialism. The work does not stop with one day. We all must make a commitment to learn the truth of history, acknowledge it, and do better. Colonialism is alive and well in Canada. How will you show up to make change in your community, province and nation? ...
