Riverview Gardens was notified by CK Public Health on January 1, 2021 that another employee has tested positive for COVID-19. This positive result is not linked to any of our prior positive cases. There are no new units going into outbreak. We continue to be in outbreak status with no general visiting. 1 Caregiver per resident is allowed. All residents on the existing outbreak units ( 2 East, 4 East, 4 West and 6 West) were COVID-19 tested. Test results received to date a...re negative. Our staff are tested weekly, as a mandatory provincial requirement following grey-zone rules. #RVGStrong

Through our routine surveillance testing, one of our employees has had a positive COVID19 test result. We believe this to be a false positive as this person has no symptoms and has not been around any confirmed cases. The employee is being retested. We are taking all precautions recommended by CK Public Health pending confirmation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been committed to exceptional infection control protocols: employees wearing masks, frequent hand hy...giene, increased disinfecting of surfaces. We are not currently in outbreak and visiting is allowed, however, we are requesting that visitors refrain from coming in for the next week, as we await results. Be assured everyone’s safety is our top priority. #RVGStrong

Hidden Garden Cafe Re-Opening We are excited to announce the re-opening of the Hidden Garden Café (located just inside the Robertson Ave entrance) on Tuesday, October 13th after 8 months of closure due to COVID-19 The café will be open to staff, residents and visitors but is not permitted for visits. Residents and visitors are still only permissible to visit in the resident’s room. If visitors are going to the Café, they must screen in at the screening desk first... We ask that 2 metre distancing is practiced in the café A take-out option is available by ordering at the counter and taking food/ drinks to go or orders can be made ahead of time by calling 519-352-4823 ext. 6116 #RVGStrong

We are excited to have our Hair Stylist Jessica and volunteers Louie and Bonnie back in the Salon Jessica is only doing cuts for the next two weeks to ensure all of our residents receive a cut. It looks like she will be able to do one unit per day. Here is the schedule for the next two weeks: ... 2 East September 14th 2 West September 15th 3 East September 16th 3 West September 17th 4 East September 18th 4 West September 21st 5 East September 22nd 5 West September 23rd 6 East September 24th 6 West September 25th Jessica has already noticed an increase of calls from families and visits from residents wanting to book colour, perm etc. appointments. To prevent a high volume of visits and calls, we ask that you contact the Salon after September 25th to give Jessica a period of time to catch up on cuts.
