Oysters, have been a big Part of Clandestino Wine Bar. While many prefer them Raw, we also offer them Baked, Creamy Spinach, Crumbs and herbs. On Wednesday &Thursday Oysters are part of our Table d'Hote, Oysters, Risotto Porcini, Dessert, While Aperol Spritz and Negroni are the Drinks Special( 7$). Friday we will have a warm tent arriving, which will also be Rain & Snowproof.

Ok Weather today, meaning with heater blowing right next to you is comfy enough to seat on our Fenced Back Patio. By Friday we will have a Rainproof& Snowproof Tend and we hope to have a warm Patio throughout the winter. We are making sure is Covid compliance and lots of air come circulating. Great weather today, on Friday Oct.23rd. Tomorrow weather gets cool again. This inconsistency made it hard for us to keep a waitstaff on during this time and switch to takeout only. Cheked out some " Winterized" patios last night. Some seems ok for another 2 to 3 weeks. Others seems no different than dining in. I would say our well spaced dining with 2 doors open was way safer.... Anyway, on Tuesday Oct. 27 i am starting a different takeout menu, mainly pizza& pasta. Every Day will be Pizza& Pasta Day as long as we remain on stage 2. MAKE YOUR OWN PIZZA 13$. Baby Octopus, On a Bed of Warm Potatoes and Bean Salad, Well Received on the first Day of Reopening. Heated Patio was very comfy and we hope to cover it soon. Despite the Rain, we will be open today, Sunday, for Pasta Day.

Dear Friends, We went back to " Modified Stage 2" for 28 days, allready the 3rd week. We were forced to shut dinning room , but unfortunately, our patio requires colosal work to be suited for winter. We will weigh in all the options to do something about patio, but as long as it Remains a " Big Work", probably wont be doing anything anytime soon. Just out of the oven, " sizzling " 12 Oz NY strip, part of table d'Hote to go, Tuesday to Saturday this week.Caprese Salad or Asparagus, Steak or Lamb or Risotto, Tripple Chocolate or Lemoncello Cake for 30 $. Lets say, you got this great bottle of wine home, you want to crack it open, and do some justice to it. We got you covered. All other promotions are available as well.

Lots of great chefs i worked for were very proud of their " French Suits ", Expensive Dehydrators, Flat tops, or hundreds of Thousands of dollars costing equipments. I used to be like that, until i met Michel Roux, who simply said once, " all theese machines are worthless. Customers dont care how much u spend on your combi oven or grill, they just care what is in front of them". Ancient Cooking techniques are back, stronger than ever. U see more and more Flames in the kitc...hens, and if possible, wood burning cooking. Not just Pizza, all our meats, Baking is done on this oven. There is no tricks, just keep the oven at very hot temperature and it does the rest itself. Wednesday&Thursday take advantage of Steak& Lamb prefix menu to go. Starting from October 10 we will stay open for takeout only, for as long as we remain on stage 2. Will be Closed on Oct.10, 11, and 12 for Thanksgiving.

Had a Request for Pasta Alfredo this week. Da Alfredo Restaurant in Rome came up with this Recipe which includes Panna, Pecorino, Parsley, Salt& Pepper, Originally with Egg Yolk to satisfy the French Tourist cravings for Pasta. Many Chefs i worked for rejected doing it as " Not Traditional ". I would say, if it is traditional enough to be served in Rome , it should be enough for North America. Dear Friends, After the first phase lockdown I personall thought it was over. Today Ontarios top Doctor recommended shutting down indoor service for another 4 weeks. With weather getting colder, outside dinning is not becoming an option. ... This week i will redesign the Takeout Menu Focusing on whole package meals, that include Drinks as well( tall cans&wine). Pizza + Tall Can for 20$. Any 4 Pizza for 50 $. Any 4 Pasta for 50 $ Date Night to go: 2 App+2 Main+2 Dessert + 1 bottle of wine for 80 $.
