Hello all! Hope you're all well and have been having a good week We are almost in 2021, which is CRAZY! And to kick off the new year we have our first prayer meeting this Saturday, January 2nd at 8am- if you can make it, AMAZING! If you can't, please be sure to keep our church community in prayer, especially as we see the end of this year come to an official close and we gear up for the one ahead.

We currently have the go ahead to meet in person on Sunday evenings, and are thrilled! We are required though to improve our Covid safety regulations in order to be able to meet. This includes the, now mandatory, wearing of masks for all.... We will be updating our church community weekly as to what gatherings will look like as we receive updates and make adjustments, as they present themselves, that best provide a safe environment for those who attend and serve, and meet the guidelines for meetings to take place. It is an absolute blessing we are able to still gather in person, as it is largely not the case for other ministries during this time, who have to move to strictly online experiences. We do understand that there are varying views and abilities of adhering to Covid regulations that include wearing masks, social distancing, etc, right now due to the sensitivity and multiple avenues of things we have to manage and implement to create the safest environment (not just for our group but others as well), if you are unable to wear a mask we invite you to join us online via our Facebook group on Sunday nights. Hopefully the mandates will ease again soon, but at present, this is our current reality in order for us to even be able to meet. Be sure to keep an eye out for emails and social media posts for updates every week, and I will be as diligent and efficient as I can to communicate with you as well. We love you all so much! We are truly blessed by who you are, the gifts you have to serve God, and the ways you are each called. Thank you for your grace in these ever changing times.

We have been in talks with an amazing organization called @nightshiftministries in Surrey about working together to serve those in the Langley community- and we are excited to share we are moving forward with this! Once a month (on a Tuesday evening) we will be preparing meals and then serving them to those living in a complex in Langley that Night Shift has teams serving a couple of times a month already. Want to learn more, possibly join the team? Night Shift is hosting an online training (required) for us on Thursday November 26th at 6:30pm. ‘On July 26th, 2020, I publicly told Recovery Church about Mike Engel passing away suddenly due to an overdose. I would like to apologize to the entire Engel family, and to those that knew Mike well, for making assumptions about his passing. I did not have all the facts, and I presumed something that had not been proven. What has been discovered is that Mike did have an enlarged heart, coronary heart disease, cardiac arrythmia, cardiomegaly and a narrowing of the coronary arteries. I am deeply sorry for making these assumptions and announcing my personal conclusion to Recovery Church, and causing further grief to the Engel family. My sincerest apologies.’ - Joel A Reimer
