For those wondering if I'd given up on my art once again, nope. I've had a few commissions that have kept me busy, and my latest scratchboard is taking me monumentally more time than I expected it to (at 52 hours now). I know it looks good at first glance, but compare the top water sparkles to the bottom ones and you'll see what I mean.
WIP "Sunset Swim"
This is a great article that shows that its not all talent! When I used to teach kids drawing, I had to constantly remind myself not to over-correct them. When they were happy with it, then it was done (because it meant they weren't ready to see the next stages they could progress to). This goes for my own art journey. The number of drawings that I was so happy with when I finished, and then years later see all the mistakes I couldn't see then. I'd like to take this challenge too... if I can dig out some old drawing of mine to re-draw. It could be fun!
Artwork that was done using Scratchboard (a clay board with black ink on it, which you scrape off using various tools, to create the whites of the picture, which can then be painted)
"Lake View" 8x10. Christmas gift for Robin's parents (view from their house).
"Gracie" 8x10 - Drawn for the Barn Manager where I live, who also let me put a "Pet Portrait" poster on display with her picture. Thanks Tracey!
