When our workshop burned down last month, a fellow photographer and friend posted in a large Ontario group of photographers about it. Zelia, owner of @littlebirdphotographyprops immediately reached out to me to offer something from her shop. Initially, I gratefully, politely declined but she left the offer open and I couldn’t help but order a number of items from her. And I finally got to use some of them yesterday! Wishing you the biggest Merry Christmas! I know this year has been full of craziness beyond what anyone could make up, hardships and downs, sadness, and fear...but it’s also been a year full of time. Time I spent with my family, more time than I’ve ever known before. I have gotten to watch and listen to my kids while they’re learning in online classes. And we ended this year by moving into our forever home, combing two homes, from two cities, into one big blended, wonderful family forever. What are some things you’re thankful for this year?

I love all the freckles! I can’t decide if I like black and white or colour better! This day, my brothers wedding, was hotter than anything, actually it was the hottest it had been all summer that day. And, I’d almost give up today to go back to that sunny time! Hello friends! There’s been so much going on! First, let’s start with the news that I’m sure we all know, and that bums us out: Grey Zone. On the one hand, small businesses like mine, the hair salon I manage, and so many others that I support and love, have adhered to and gone above and beyond the safety precautions to ensure our clients (and ourselves and families stay safe). It’s disheartening to know that we must close and cannot operate. On the other hand, I completely un...derstand our social responsibility to our health care workers and fellow members of our community, and hearing first hand from my health care friends what is happening, I do not want to contribute to the spread and increased numbers. So sadly, I cannot operate at all during this time; no studio or outdoor sessions But we will get through this!! Now for the exciting news: my family and I moved this past weekend into our forever home! We combined two homes, from two different cities, to live under one roof, our forever county home!! Our kids are over the moon excited and it already feels like home. I’ve been working hard to unpack and organize as quickly as possible so I can feel somewhat a normal semblance of life! Our county home has incredible charm and room for the 6 of us, and property to enjoy the deer! Annnnnddd....the goal is, to break ground in the spring to build a new studio! Eeeeekkkk!!! I will absolutely be sharing the progress when it begins and I can do exactly as I envision. One thing about unpacking is I could finally find my box of Christmas dresses to wear every day!! Truly my final newborn of 2020! A little unexpected and a little early, he just couldn’t wait to meet his family! I have the pleasure of working with his mama and what a wonderful way to spend a morning!! I absolutely loved listening to his dad hype his own son up through the whole session he’s so perfect, look how cute he is and of course, when I asked if they were ok with images being posted the answer was obviously. I started to realize, that almost all my mini sessions were of families whose children I’ve been photographing since they were newborns or even before they were born! These sweet twins, almost 8! And now their little sister, who I’ve gotten to photograph all three since newborns!! . Two is always a fun time....do we need to play fetch to get them to smile and not just crash into the ground? Ok. I have a confession to make- but it won’t come as a surprise to those who know me well. I totally relate to this little girl. Here it is: If someone falls, I will laugh. I will laugh until I have tears...the crazier the fall, the harder I laugh. But ONLY if I know the person who has fallen is not truly hurt. But I can’t help it. Story time: two years ago on Halloween my boyfriend went as the grim reeper. He walked around the neighbourhood on 3’ high stilts. And at one ...point, I looked over to see him completely bailing...it was like the dramatic fall was in slow motion and I was in hysterics. The whole neighbourhood came running and I’m in stitches. He was TOTALLY fine, but i couldn’t help it. It’s a total character flaw...I know, I know. But truly, it’s only when I absolutely know they’re ok. This image depicts the stages of being a photographer.... Yay! I'm getting to photograph amazing clients! Ahh there's so much editing to do and the internet is insanely slow...can I just sleep? Yay! I've sent the images to the family! ... I've officially moved out of Windsor! The studio is packed away, the majority of my home is in a storage bin and the rest is now in our temporary home in Tilbury. For the next 32 days I'll be living with internet that is....a bit slower than the city...15mps and 1mps/upload! If you aren't sure what that means, it means loading a gallery online takes approximately 2.5 hours instead of 10 minutes. It might also mean, that I take a trip into Windsor to borrow a friend's internet to send off the 14 galleries I need to!~
