A yummy Christmas recipe with a twist of humor from Troy Blanchard - Century 21 Dome Realty Inc.: ThHis was a traditional brunch my mom would make for us on Christmas morning. It is very yummy. Now, my wife makes it for me on Christmas morning. I do love the name for the dish as well!

A message from Leah Kew Christmas is upon us and I know a lot of people out there are struggling. I keep reminding my family it’s going to be a different Christmas but we’re going to make it a great one. My sister reminded me of when we were kids we had chickenpox over Christmas and it’s true it’s a Christmas you may always remember good and bad. With this different Christmas I did choose to keep as many of the traditions the same as I could. I love to do Chri...stmas baking, often I get together with my sister and my friends and spend many different nights and days doing all sorts of different Christmas baking. This year I did it alone a little different for sure. I was lucky enough though to deliver some out to friends and family and hopefully was able to put a little smile on their face. Attached is a recipe we called Gladys Kurtz squares because that is the name of the lady that gave my mom the recipe years ago. Also attached is a picture of myself and my two beautiful children Kiera and Zac. From my family to yours we wish you a very Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year and lots of positive thoughts that we will all have a great 2021 See more

Small town Sask memories from Jeff Hutton along with his famous french onion soup recipe! Growing up in Lumsden we usually celebrated Christmas with all my family that lives in Saskatchewan. I’m the youngest of 9 but my other brothers and sisters that lived in Alberta, Ontario, Flagstaff and Atlanta would came the odd Christmas but mostly it was just my Sask siblings. Christmas Eve we would get to open one present. With 2 TV channels we watched what was on, usually Little Dr...ummer Boy, and the epic Grinch That Stole Christmas to name a few of my favourites. My mom would be busy baking and cooking. My two sisters closest in age and I would wake up early, early Christmas morning as early as 4pm to open Santa gifts. As we grew older and living on our own, One by one we would show up to Grandma/Grandpa Hutton’s in Lumsden. My brother from Regina with his wife and 3 kids, my sister from Regina with her husband and two kids and my sister from Bladworth with her husband and 3 boys. I was bringing my wife and two daughters. My dad who had Hutton’s Electric had a Camcorder to record Christmas morning gift opening. It was hard seeing the tree with all the presents piled high and wide for all the kids and adults. We would open gifts, paper flying everywhere with the kiddies being so excited. Mom would make lunch and then supper for those that stayed. As we married most would spend Christmas supper with the inlaws. Mom might get some help cooking/baking but she carried the major load. Mom would go overboard and cook different things to make sure everyone had a favourite thing to eat. She would always make my favourite Green Stuff (pistachio pudding). We would bring Cheese Ball which everyone seemed to enjoy. An afternoon nap was common and continuing watching Christmas shows/movies. Boxing Day we would be up early and run around the city shopping for deals. See more
