Your Petrolia Flyers season came to an end on Sunday in Amherstburg with a disappointing loss in Game 7. During the game we became aware that Amherstburg was us...ing an ineligible player, we launched a formal protest, with hopes of having the game replayed as has been the precedent set in the past by the OHA for use of ineligible players. The PJHL accepted to hear the protest, declared that Amherstburg did in fact have an ineligible player on their roster for the game but let the game stand as an Amherstburg win. A truly disappointing decision made by the Commissioner and his committee that we will just have to accept. Regardless we did have our chances to win other games in this series, we will own the result and be proud that we took the 3rd place team to the brink of elimination. Looking back on the season, at one point our record was 3 and 14, we were 1 point out of last place. Since then we won 14 of 30 and ended up in sixth place. We have a great nucleus returning, will be looking to add some key pieces and build on our success this year. FLYERS TO OPEN PLAYOFFS WEDNESDAY ON THE ROAD The Petrolia Flyers travel to Amhersburg Wednesday night to open a best-of-seven divisional quarter-final series w...ith the Admirals. Game two is Thursday night in Petrolia at 7:30. The Flyers closed out the regular season last night with a 4-1 setback to the Habs in Lakeshore. Eric Marsh had the lone goal for the Flyers; a powerplay tally late in the second period. Tyler Richardson made 38 saves for Petrolia as the Habs outshot the Flyers, 42-23. See more
