Ok... here's a new one for me. Got a text from my customer at about 6:30, this morning. Was going to finish a tile job I started yesterday and today was grouting. This was on a farm, about 40 minutes from Regina. The text told me that the line from the well was frozen up and that just a trickle of water was coming out the faucet. If you've never grouted before, on average, I'll use about 20 gallons of water. So I said I'd go for it... it would just take a little longer to fi...ll the pails. As soon as I got there, I brought in my buckets and started filling, as I brought in the rest of my tools. After about 5 minutes... zero water. So... I asked the customer if she had a stock pot and we went outside and filled pails with snow. We melted the snow in the stock pot, and off we went. Gotta say... that was the first time I ever used snow to grout... but what the hell... job was done... beer was enjoyed and off I went. Though.. just before I left, the water started running again. A challenging day, and everybody won.
