2020 Classic & Vintage Motorcycle Swap Meet and Show ‘n Shine: Cancelled March 17, 2020: for immediate release Because of measures introduced to help contain the Covid-19 virus, the City of Abbotsford has advised that gatherings of 50 people or more will not be allowed at any of their venues for the time being.... Therefore, we regret to advise that the 2020 Classic & Vintage Motorcycle Swap Meet and Show ‘n Shine scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Abbotsford Agrifair is cancelled. It’s our intention to reschedule the event for later in the year, and we are working with the City of Abbotsford to come up with a suitable date. We will advise as soon as this is confirmed. Full release: Unfortunately, the 2019 Swap Meet had to be cancelled because of illness; but we’re back for 2020 with an augmented management team and a new venue. The Classic and Vintage Swap Meet has traditionally been the unofficial season opener for motorcycle enthusiasts across the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. We intend to continue that tradition. Owners of all makes and styles of classic and vintage motorcycles are invited to enter the Show ‘n Shine, and awards will be presented in numerous classes, including Best in Show and People’s Choice. Stay tuned for information about this year’s featured motorcycle marque and model! The new venue in Abbotsford (www.agrifair.ca) was chosen for its location near the centre of the Fraser Valley, allowing easy and direct freeway access from Vancouver to Hope. It’s also located near the Abbotsford-Mission bridge for North Shore visitors, and close to the Sumas/Huntingdon border crossing on State Route 9 for our American guests. It saddens me greatly to report that Robb Priske has passed away. Robb suffered a massive heart attack on Monday night, June 3rd. He had recently turned 70 on April 17th. A fixture for over 50 years at swap meets from Vancouver Island to Red Deer to California and Davenport. Robb loved the hunt for parts and bikes.... A gregarious guy, he always had a smile, a hand shake and of course, a story to tell you. I know that I have several great stories about Robb which I could tell as well. He was so proud that he was able to ride in the Cannonball Ride on the 1925 JD that he and Jim Hoye had built. His close pal Dale Grayson, who was on his 1923 Indian Chief, rode with him. Professionally, he worked for the provincial government’s Child Protection Services for many years in Kelowna and Nelson, retiring about 8 years. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Betty and the family. Sons Richard and Steve and step children Tina and Jesse and grandkids. Hi Folks, last night 3 Indians were stolen in Burnaby, BC. We are looking for a 1947 Chief that is yellow and complete. A 1951 Chief that is black and had the motor out of it. The motor was taken as well.... And finally a 1948 Chief that is blue, complete and has a H-D telescopic front end with a Chief front fender. Lets find these bikes for the owner.
