I’m about over this rain and longing for a warm Summer evening ... here’s hoping for a snow filled Winter and Spring and a early Summer. A girl can dream right?
A rare occurrence. Also can someone come get rid of Christmas for me? That really could be such an amazing business venture for someone! Any takers?
Finally done, after some last minute changes, cause well life. Finishing this up for my family has been the perfect way to end my much needed Winter Holiday. I meant to do a 366 Project- where you take one photo every day- but that puts way too much pressure on me, so I just documented intentionally when it suited me and I am glad I did as it actually allowed me to finish the year, instead of admitting defeat. Also for the first time ever I allowed myself to use cel phone... photos and my trusty little go pro when i didn't feel like taking out my actual camera. 2020 was a hell of a year but one I don't want to forget, pandemic and all. Starting the year off traveling in Colombia was the most amazing way to start off 2020 and the tradition of spending New Years away from home is something I hope to be able to continue in the future. We kept our bubble small, and spent a lot of intentional time just being together. We embraced what 2020 threw at us, time together, and it was nothing short of amazing and exactly what we needed. xo. http://www.claudiawyler.com//2021/1/3/2020-you-were-good-t See more
Yesterday was a wet one on the mountain but we had an amazing day spent together, and that’s all that matters.
To be.... Intentional. If this year has taught me anything it has been this. . .... . Last year, this time, I was almost at my breaking point. Exhaustion was my constant state and I needed a break from anything and everything that resembled my normal life, I desperately just needed a minute to catch my breath. I broke free of my day to to day cycle and took off to Columbia, for a trip that taught me to let go, to say yes, and to embrace my fear of losing control. On my first day of 2020, while in Colombia, I saw a quote painted on the wall in a tiny little bar. It hit me hard at the time (that or that was the best damn Mojito I’ver ever had), yet the actual force of impact that 2020 would put upon us to ensure we took hold of it, this quotes actual meaning, was yet unknown. I tried hard to embrace this feeling, some days came easier than others, and some weeks it was totally forgotten. I did my best to say yes more, to embrace life more, to not be so critical of myself and others and to free myself even just a little bit from the shackles of rules and self criticism I’ve lived by for so many years. To say 2020 was freeing is an understatement, I’m a work in progress but you know what, despite this damn pandemic, 2020 was a good year. Thank you to everyone that trusted me to capture your memories, your stories, your moments, your life in 2020. I cannot wait to see what 2021 holds for us all cause if it’s anything like 2020 it’s gonna be one heck of a ride!! Xo.
If I can’t travel this is the only other way to bring in the New Year....
My girls out exploring the lake. Love where you live the PNW. * * * A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself. - Josh Billings
Isolation never looked this good.
One of my FAVE wedding moments from this year happened when Corinna and her dear friends hair got stuck together during portraits. I still laugh every single time I look at this photo!
Huge shout out to one of my besties... it was her birthday yesterday and I missed seeing her so much. While we don’t see each other often the time we do spend is some of my favourite. I crave her wisdom and perspective on life more than I do potato chips, and that’s saying a lot! I hope you had an amazing day yesterday @brendamanda and I can’t wait for our coveted time together, even if we have to stay 6 ft apart and mask up this time. Xoxo.
Decluttering, you know what everyone else did at the start of the pandemic... figured I’d take a go at it this weekend, to get a break from all the editing. But first sweet little Gabi had to introduce me to her new baby brother! She’s grown so much since I saw her last and gah did it ever hurt not to be able to snuggle that new baby squish.
Daddy and his girls.
Baylee, the long haired sausage dog that doesn’t like to be called a chihuahua under any circumstances, and her forever and ever family.
Quiet teenagers are just like quiet toddlers, in more ways than one. On a more exciting note this kid got accepted into the new Art school today!!!! Imagine High (yes they actually named it this ) here she comes... you know... once the pandemic is over.
The sweetest little family
Family. Keep them close and hug them tight.
Squishy river cuddles are my absolute favourite.
I seriously love when families bring their fur babies to sessions!
The sweetest little family at one of my favourite spots to destress.
An exact depiction of what my evening conversations with Adison have looked like lately... you did what all day?! Time to revamp home school life this weekend... pretty sure she’s not supposed to be doing art 4 out of the 6 hours of school time a day.
It sure has been a week... or more like the crash the end of October always gifts me with. New temporary position at work has my head swimming till the wee hours of the morning and not leaving much time for anything but work and editing. Excited for a reset this weekend and the calm the beginning of November often brings me... or well, more like the calm I try so desperately to find before the chaos of Christmas starts. Looking for my zen... may need to book a call with my dear friend Patti at @nourish_victory to help me find it. How’s everyone else doing? Any one else’s nutty neighbours have Christmas lights up yet?!
Forever and always, it’s you.
My old old girl... absolutely unimpressed that I made her get off the couch and go for a walk. It’s cold. Fall you fooled us this year... brrrrr.
Today my baby boy turned 21... seems like it was just yesterday that I spent all my time down at this exact river walking on logs and throwing rocks for hours on end. Spend the time my friends as it truly goes so fast and turns into a quick dinner with family and he’s off with his friends again. Xo.
Why didn’t the skeleton cross the road? Because he had no guts!!! Thanks for the laughs Vivi!!
Ummm hello Winter?! Was that not the shortest Fall season ever?! Minus 4 tonight?! Send me warmth, and cuddles and all the sweaters as I pack up for our camping weekend!!!
Working on a master disguise to hide from my to do list... think this will work?!
It’s official! 79 and not 80! Happy Birthday Mom!
79!!! Totally crazy but you actually gained a year, as I spent the last year thinking you were turning 80. I also have all the hidden 80 decorations hiding in Adi’s room but we won’t talk about that!!! Happy Birthday Mom!
