It's hard to believe that our soil has seafood byproduct in it by looking at the finished product. After being processed at our facility, both the odour and appearance of seafood waste is absent. Yet the soil has absorbed the rich nutrients of the seafood byproduct.
Cleantech Renewables Ltd, in partnership with Nova Scotia Community College, are researching new ways to recycle fibreglass. In its current uses, fibreglass serves mostly as refurbished insulation material. In Ontario and the U.S it is being used to make decking material which looks exactly like wood but much stronger. So far Cleantech Renewables Ltd., has identified 25 abandoned vessels in Cape Breton and along northeastern Nova Scotia since September that are candidates for a salvage and recycling operation. If you are aware of any abandoned boats in your area please contact John at (902) 270-5559.
What’s the difference between topsoil and potting soil? That depends on what kind of job you need it for. Topsoil is used for planting in the ground. Replacing existing soil with topsoil can help your plants grow better. It is also ideal for filling in spots. Potting soils are for planters, hanging baskets, window boxes and other containers where drainage is important and weight would be a problem. Because plants breathe through their roots, they’ll thrive in potting soil as long as they are watered regularly. Using the right kind of soil for the job is the key to successful growing.
