HI Everyone! I know of a colleague on the Federal Covid Disability Response Team, and we found out that clear masks have been approved for medical use by Healt...h Canada for those that need them. In my experience, the hospitals wont allow their staff or physicans to wear homemade clear masks due to them not being medical grade (they are afraid of being sued if someone gets sick at work). So for patients attending clinic visits in person, or staff who work in healthcare and have hearing loss (including allied healthcare professions like physiotherapy for example) - the clear masks may be really supportive since Health Canada approved them. They are actually available only in bulk, so I think we need to advocate that the government order clear masks as covid response and distribute them.
