Milk. It does a body good.
When you are a twin and born on a hot September day, things can be tough if your mom doesn’t want to take care of you. That’s ok. It just means you get leather and AC for a ride to another farm where a very good mom who lost her calf is waiting to take you as her new baby.
The more we take care of our land, the better our forage. The better our forage, the healthier our cattle. The healthier our cattle, the better our beef. The better the beef, the better the BBQ and you! Amazing to see all the clover, alfalfa and trefoil coming back in this once run down pasture.
Bees up front and Black Angus beef in the back to the left. They go together. As we rotate the beef around the pasture with daily moves to a new salad bar, the bees always have a paddock to eat with pollen and nectar from the clover, alfalfa etc. The pollinate these paddocks and ensure that they continually reseed themselves providing delicious fresh forage for the beef to produce milk and muscle. And most importantly, the honey is delicious in my morning coffee...
Beautiful cool evening. Nice way to end the day checking groups of cows.
