this Sunday tried a new yoga studio - Bikram Yoga Mississauga. I started with beginners Series class that ran for 90 minutes (advanced Bikram consists of 84 poses!). Birkam yoga is done in a studio at the 40 C (104 F) with a humidity of 40% and consists of 26 postures, including two breathing exercises. Asanas are easy enough for everyone but there is so much more benefits to doing yoga in a heated room. Personally I felt like I am doing moving meditation. Give it a try and there are so much more benefits - I felt like my body releases stress and toxins, my mind goes quiet, i am more present in the moment, muscles become flexible and relaxed. Back from workshop on Conscious dying. For 2 days we have been training ourselves under the guidance of Mexican healer and shaman Sergio Magana and Charlie Morley, a lucid dreaming teacher, a Buddhist who lives at Samye Dzing Buddhist Center in London, on how to die in total awareness as taught in Tibetan Buddhism and in Old Mexican Toltec traditions. Of course in Buddhist and in Mexican traditions experienced masters dedicate life to training for transition to the other s...ide but we got a glimpse, a taste, a small tip of an iceberg and it was powerful and beautful. Here is something I wanted to share and it is from the book of Bronnie Ware whose bestselling book The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, touched hearts all over the world. When asked people what are their regret before dying the top 5 reasons were: 1. I wish I had courage to live life true to myself instead of what society and others expect of me. 2. Yesterday a terrible explosion happened in my Mississauga community. Few houses have been leveled down and many people had to find shelter as residents were evacuated while police conducts investigation on reason of the explosion. People in the community were confused, shocked, frightened. I briefly spoke with a woman whose house was damaged beyond recognition as a result of the explosion they lost all their possessions. Looking at her small kids running around Burnham...thorpe community center I thanked God that all of them were alive. There are things in our lives that are beyond our control and when something terrible like this happens your realize how we, as humans, rely on each other for support, compassion and kindness. When all is taken away from us we still have each other. There is no need for temples, no need for complicated philosophies. My brain and my heart are my temples.
