Many, if not all of us, have been impacted by COVID-19. It is affecting mental health, the economy, increasing substance use and more. There are many ways to reach out for help. If you know someone needs help or need help yourself, don't hesitate to reach out. There are text lines, virtual appointments, free counselling face to face, websites and more. #fcss #reachout #askforhelp
Come out for this great Christmas tradition. It just looks a little different this year.
As of November 24, 2020 Clearwater County will be under Enhanced measures.
Taking charge of our personal wellness begins with small choices we make daily. One activity that can help us to recharge after leaving work is to go through this 'going home checklist'. It allows us to leave work at work, on a positive note and then shift gears to rest and recharge at home. #fcss #wellness

Come join us down at the Lou Soppit on Halloween from 1-4 PM for some games, treats, colouring pages and a haunted house.

CONNECTION through social snacking. Humans are wired to connect and it has been difficult with pandemic restrictions. Social snacks, which are short, positive interactions contribute to happiness, sense of belonging and help build stronger, more supportive communities. These can be as simple as greeting the bus driver, picking up trash in your community or smiling with your eyes while waiting in line. Aim for 3 a day and grow from there. #fcss #buildingcommunity #connection
Who Helps the Helper zoom sessions on the 1st Tuesday of each month from 1:30 - 2:30 PM. Many of us front-liners are getting exhausted and are nearing burnout. These sessions will be on various topics, some with guest speakers, monthly draws and are available on a drop in basis.
November is Family Violence Prevention Month. Speak out, reach out, help is available. Violence has no boundaries and can affect all of us regardless of gender, race, socio-economic status or age.
Happy Thanksgiving from our families in Clearwater Regional FCSS to yours. May you day be filled with great company, food, memories and gratitude.
Heading into this Thanksgiving long weekend, let us take the time for gratitude. What are 3 things that you are grateful for today?
When different groups are working together or you have clients or coworkers of varying backgrounds, cultural values are important to keep in mind. Some cultures place more value on the collective and others on the individual. There are strengths and needs in each culture, be sure they are being addressed with respect and dignity.

Making a list of things that you like about yourself or things that you are good at are great ways to improve your overall wellness. It can be something you don on your own or with the help of those close to you. If you're having a rough day you can reflect on it and if you look at it daily, it'll be that much easier to toss unhelpful thoughts aside when they show up.
Let us all see the wonder and beauty in the changing of the seasons. See the beauty that can come from letting things go that no longer serve us. Like how the trees are letting go of their leaves for the coming of winter.
October is spectacular with the sights, sounds and smells of autumn. Make it a month to focus on gratitude and share that gratitude on Thanksgiving. Check out the happenings in and around our community and region. More info TBA regarding events.
Reach out to save lives. The smallest gesture can mean the world to someone. It may be the highlight of their day. We all have struggles that we are dealing with, be kind and reach out with a smile and funny meme or even an enthusiastic wave. #reachout #fcss #suicidalawarenessmonth
Connection saves lives. Reach out or check in with others in new ways. Rather than saying " How are you?", try sending them a playlist you made that you thought they would like or ask if they're free for coffee. Check out the 50 suggestions here or make some of your own, either way REACH OUT. #reachoutut #SuicidePreventionMonth #fcss
