Clearwater Dental Clinic BC 12.11.2020

Dear Community of Clearwater, As many of you are aware, the Premier of British Columbia has announced that dental offices may reopen in mid May. I want to reach out to you all during this COVID 19 pandemic to explain things from a dental standpoint. Every time a dental procedure is performed it creates millions of aerosols. Because, the Covid-19 pandemic is still active, we are adding two new types of equipment to our office-... MedEVAC, Chairside Aerosol Vaccum, that provides Direct capture from the source and is equipped with a 3stage filtration system. These will be placed in all three operatories. Second piece of equipment is a Powerful Air Purifier, which has been proven to capture and purify the air for particles as small as the SARS I virus. These Air purifiers are manufactured by a Canadian company and are used by many hospitals all across North America during surgeries to capture aerosols. These will be placed in all three operatories and another one in the reception area We will be installing them as soon as they arrive from a distributor in a few weeks, hopefully at the beginning of June. Once this system has been installed, all required personal protection equipment has been acquired and we are able to safely return to the office we will reschedule your appointments. I want you to feel rest assured that your health and my staff's health is of the utmost concern to me. Sincerely, Dr. Sarika Kishore Clearwater Dental Clinic 250-674-2151 [email protected]

A statement from Clearwater Dental Clinic: Patients that have visited our office DO NOT NEED TO SELF ISOLATE. This is Dr Sarika Kishore, the local dentist. At this time I wish to clarify some possible confusion with our earlier statement and further update our patients and community members. ... Neither myself, nor Lauren our hygienist, nor any other member of our staff have COVID19. None of us currently have or have previously experienced any symptoms whatsoever. It has been 11 days since members of our staff attended a dental conference in Vancouver. This conference has been of concern but the risk has been deemed very low. If you were one of our patients on March 10th, 11th or 12th, you DO NOT need to isolate yourself! Please simply pay closer attention to your health or any symptoms that may arise. If you were a patient your risk is extremely low for any transmission. We use universal precautions in our clinic. This includes our sterilization, gloves, masks etc. This means we always treat each patient as though they carry disease. I want to reassure and diffuse any fears or concerns over this unfortunate situation. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Sincerely, Dr. Kishore

CLEARWATER DENTAL CLINIC CLOSURE COVID-19 STATEMENT Dear Clearwater Community, Due to recent information regarding the COVID-19 confirmed cases of attendees at the Pacific Dental Conference March 5-7, Clearwater Dental Clinic will be closed for a minimum of 14-days. Dr. Kishore and her Hygienist attended this conference and have been advised as of today to isolate themselves for a 14-day period. If you were a patient of ours on the days March 10th, 11th or 12th, please monit...or yourself for any flu like symptoms. *Dr. Kishore and the Hygienist are in very good health and have had no symptoms.* As well, due to COVID-19 regulatory bodies of the Dental and Dental Hygiene profession across Canada have announced suspension of non-essential dental treatment for a 14-day period. This means that there will be no dental services available for a period of 14-days, non-essential or emergency. After 14-days, we will provide an update to the community as to whether or not emergency or both emergency and non-essential dental treatment may resume. The College of Dental Surgeons BC defines a dental emergency as: A person who needs immediate attention to deal with uncontrolled bleeding, uncontrolled swelling, traumatic injury or uncontrolled severe pain. Should you find yourself in one of these situations please e-mail: [email protected]. Dr. Kishore will be checking this e-mail account every three hours, during weekdays. We will do our best to respond as quickly and promptly as possible with an advisory of what to do next. Emergency services are still available in Kamloops during this time. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact us via the e-mail provided. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to our patients but we want to uphold the safety and health of the community first. We thank you for your support as a community and we truly care for each one of you. Sincerely, Clearwater Dental Clinic.
