The honey and mead competitions are a much-anticipated part of the Ontario Honey Festival. Anyone can enter the competitions you do not need to be a professi...onal, nor do you need to be a vendor at the event. As long as the honey is from your own bees and/or you made the mead with your own honey. Entries are to be dropped off at the festival admissions table before noon. There is no charge to enter the competition. Judges for the honey competition are: Conor Cleary of Clearydale Honey; Adam Bayard of Autumn's Bounty; and Melanie Kempers of the Ontario Beekeepers' Association Tech-Transfer Program. Prizes donated by Innisfil Creek Honey. Judges for the mead competition are: Sylvain Segard of Millefleurs; Bay Woodyard of Honey Pie Hives & Herbals; and a representative from Dancing Bee Equipment. Prizes donated by Dancing Bee Equipment.
