Yay for 2021! With 2020 in our rear view mirror, we are launching in to the new year with great optimism. 2020 was a difficult year to say the least. No one was immune from experiencing the challenges that came with the rapid change and uncertainty. Our hearts go out to all those impacted, especially our peers in the small business community. 2020 was our 15thyear in business. We had celebrations and special events planned and then March came and those plans wen...t out the window. Like so many others, we were stressed and frightened as to how the pandemic would affect our business and genuinely concerned if our company would survive the impact; there were a lot of tears this spring. What happened though is what we are most grateful for our community supported us unwaveringly through the year! It started with phone calls and emails from clients who told us to hang in there because you wanted to see us survive; and we want to say THANK YOU because those gestures gave us the strength, encouragement and motivation to not just ‘pivot’ but to do better. We will be eternally grateful for the support of everyone who sent their dog to dayschool, even when some of you were still working from home. We are so appreciative to those who signed up for pupstart, jumpstart and core, and those who took a chance on our first Zoom training classes as we strived to find creative ways to support new puppy owners and provide assistance for dog’s of all ages. We thought we would celebrate a milestone year with parties and special events, but the gift we received was something much more impressive we experienced our terrific community who carried us on their shoulders through 2020, and we owe you a giant THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts. @calgarypolice has closed off the neighborhood surrounding our building this morning for a crime scene investigation and will not allow us access to our building so unfortunately dayschool will be closed for today. We regret any inconvenience this may cause any clients who have booked today - we will of course refund all credits to your accounts. All training classes will run as scheduled. Due to the fact we do not have access to our office we cannot contact clients directly to let them know of this situation.

Can your dog do this?! SHOW US! Be sure to TAG us: #presleyshomeschoolchallenge #clevercaninesyyc #experiencefreedom #webelieveindogs TIP: If this is new for your dog, get the dog used to the feeling of the object anywhere on their body (before moving to their head) while you hold the object, just for a quick second to begin with. Then eventually move it to their head and start extending the time to a few seconds. Mark them accepting the object on them (I use the word "yes"), then reward (I used cookies). Make it fun! *Also! I would hold my breath to help communicate to my dog not to move. He in turn held his breath, keeping him very still. This is called Social Referencing, and dogs are great at it!

It was a special day at dayschool today, as we practiced patience training for our lovely guest! We welcomed Calgary Author, Shawna Robinson to read to all the dogs on #worldreadaloudday! Everybody gathered around to listen to Shawna of @everydayicingstories as she shared a story called "Suburban Dawgs". All the dogs loved it! ....
