Being a #father of 2 beautiful #daughters I feel has truly helped me grow as a photographer. Especially with my portraiture with female models. . Absolutely it’s my job at times to capture the #beauty displayed by a given model. However having daughters I find myself looking for little moments a #model might let her pose guard down, in between #makeup applications. When she’s just being herself, I find that truly beautiful and appreciate the immense challenges of being a wom...an still very much seen as objects. Granted sometimes that’ll generate just a cute moment but it’s those cute moments that when putting together the #biography in fact even the portfolio of such a person one looks for those #candid captured moments. Miss my grandma. 3 years ago I lost my grandma at the age of 90. She was a wonderful spiritual woman. She had lived through war times, through her husband leaving her, through watching her daughter my mother slowly fade away after a year in a coma. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Despite a variety of opinions about her beliefs, and some family members not believing the same, including her husband who left her at the same time the faith they both had, she remained faithful... and true to herself till the day she passed away. I was reminded of her when I took this photo of a caregiver out with an elderly person this weekend in Olympic village. So much fear in the world these days, but you know what. My grandmother though she knew her time was short, didn’t have the same fear. She focused her hope, a hope in a resurrection where she could be brought back to life on earth, a paradise earth, to be with her family once again. To be sure whatever your beliefs is pertaining our future, it is yours and I respect it. But in remember my grandma, Vivian...I didn’t want hold back from saying exactly who she was.
