What kind of bug doesn't know how to spell its own name? Have your little critter practice phonics by saying each name aloud. Practice writing the beginning letter on the line to complete the creepy-crawly name. Shared by Ashnoor

Sound it out, throw it out! In each group, one word doesn't sound like the others. When your pre-schooler sounds words out and finds which ones are alike and which are different, they are forming the building blocks of reading and spelling. Try out this fun worksheet to give your little learner valuable practice that will help them on the road to kindergarten! Shared by Ashnoor

What rhymes with duck? Truck! Rhymes aren't only fun, they're great pre-reading practice, too! Rhymes help familiarize kids with letter sounds and patterns, and help prepare them for reading success. Get ready to read by matching the rhyming words. Match the pictures that rhyme. Shared by Ashnoor

Get ready to rhyme! Working with rhymes is great practice for early readers, helping to build phonics understanding and reading vocabulary. Set your kindergartner on the right track with this worksheet that asks her to read each word, then match the two that rhyme. Shared by Ashnoor

Worksheet- Shared by Ashnoor Note: The seasons are not just reflected in the weather, but in the items we use, the places we go, and the things we do! In this summer weather worksheet, children practice identifying the items they are likely to see in summer. Designed for preschoolers, this worksheet is a fun way for children to practice using logic and pre-reading skills. It also lends well to a discussion of the seasons, and how summer weather can vary depending on where you live in the world.

Worksheet- Shared by Ashnoor Note: All of these weather words are missing something: their first letter! Kids choose the correct letter and write it on the lines provided to complete the weather words. This kindergarten reading worksheet offers practice identifying beginning sounds and writing lowercase letters.
