Giving a very loud shout out to Southern Ontario's Inn On The Twenty, after experiencing their wonderful business pre-lock down! I had heard a lot about this place, and it's wonderful. I love it because It blends Niagara's elegancy with welcoming staff and a visually entrancing backdrop within the Twenty Valley, with spectacular views of Twenty Mile Creek. I have to admit I have been there twice this past month, but who could resist! Both times I had a savoury steak, so perf...ectly cooked I only used a butter knife; A peppercorn aioli, rosemary salted pommes frites and broccolini. Anyone who knows me knows I cannot resist a good charcuterie board, and theirs is top notch! The #espressomartinis.... yum, the perfect pairing with the steak frites!! Who else has been to the Restaurant? If you weren't aware Inn On The Twenty is also a hotel and spa. Has anyone used their other services? What do I say about 2020... I am a mom, wife, nurse, Realtor and the list goes on! This year has been trying to say the least! I spent the first half of the year away from my family working along side my amazing co-workers @jobranthospital in uncertain times, fearful of a virus that we knew very little about. We all wanted to help protect the public and channel our inner Florance Nightingale! Friends and family stepped up to help with my children and it will never be forgotte...n. When I was able return home life was very different. Trying to figure out the unpredictable schedule with the kids school and daycare, leaving my fulltime position as a nurse and beginning my new venture as a Realtor has been life changing. For the first time in my life I have been able to slow down and appreciate life's little joys. Beginning my new business during a pandamic has not been ideal but it has allowed me to really create a business model that I am proud of. Yes I am a salesperson, but I have turned my sights to supporting our communities, our neighbours, and most importantly building lasting relationships. I must say though, as a operating room nurse, my skills in sterility have become invaluable when protecting buyers and sellers! I was fortunate to join an amazing brokerage and have appreciated the continued support, teamwork and guidence that I have experienced when they welcomed me into their family @rlpburloak ! They truely are leaders in the real estate market! At the end of the day I will look back at 2020 and only see a year of self-growth, self-reflection, new connections, and a strengthened appreciation for my community. Here is to 2021, may we take the hard lessons we learned this year and all come out more positive and unitied! How was your year? Southern Ontario winter is on the way! It is important to make sure your home is winter ready! Follow this checklist to get you started! 1. If you have a working wood burning fire place, prior to using this winter, make sure to have it swept out by a professional. 2. If your trees have overgrown, are to close to your house or a powerline, make sure that you call an arborist to cut them back. You do not want to deal with a fallen tree, causing a power outage in the middle of a... storm! 3. To keep your furnance running efficiently, clean or replace the filters. When the heat is running 24/7, it doesn’t hurt to inspect it monthly and replace it when it looks worn. 4. Fire and carbon monoxide risks are higher in winter months due to increased use of fireplaces, stoves, and furnances. Each month, check to make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are in good working order. 5. Turn off the exterior water valves, disconnect your hoses and drain out any remaining water. 6. Cleaning out your gutters before the snow hits will ensure that when it melts, there is no over flow. This will allow the melted snow to properly go down the downspout; Don't forget to point the downspout 6 feet away! 7. If you experienced power outages from winter storms last year, or live in a rural area, it is a good idea to invest in a backup generator!

I have talk to sooo many people about this! What is a deposit? When you make an offer on a property, a deposit will accompany it. A depsoit shows the seller that you are serious about completing the sale. Deposits are negotiable. A deposit is presented upon acceptance of the offer, within 24 hours, or as otherwise specified in the sales agreement. It does not go directly to the seller, instead it is held by a third party, usually in a real estate trust account. Once the property closes, the deposit will go against the purchase price. Many people ask me, why would you get into real estate when you are already a nurse? After thinking about it, it just seems natural! I, now causally, work in the operating room along side some amazing people, but I love real estate and I find that alot of my nursing skills have transferred into my real estate business.
