So our cherry blossoms *just* opened in the last week. About three weeks behind when they usually do. It’s been a cool spring and all the plents are waaaay behind. I miss being at the first weeks of @trinitybellwoodsfm but the extra QT with the monkey in the tree is pretty great.

Haters gonna hate. Potatoes gonna potate.

In the last year this handsomeness has been an amazing uncle and father and partner and friend. He has poured his [seemingly endless] energy and enthusiasm into volunteering in our school and community, into helping bring LGBTQ refugees to Canada and to set them up to succeed. In his work he’s been bringing new life and new relationship with the land to a place of beauty and rest and retreat, through indigenous listening and healing. He has been a hockey-mom extraordinaire, with parenting patience i envy on my best days. And he’s been a supportive and encouraging partner to me through what turned out to be a very difficult summer fall winter and spring. Somehow, he does it all. I couldn’t be more proud of him, more grateful that he chooses me, more excited for another year and another and another. Happy Birthday, my love.
