This... is the last chance for public input before this plan becomes law. email to [email protected] If you want the reference to the Shuswap River Watershed Sustainability Plan removed from the OCP you must speak up and let the RDNO know. Below is the wording in the OCP that references the SRWSP: Page 36 of the draft OCP states under: Environment and Natural Ares Objectives: 1. To uphold the goals of the Shuswap River Watershed Sustainability Plan as they pertain to the following: Recreation: That the Shuswap River Watershed is a model of safe and sustainable recreational practices, providing diverse recreational opportunities that respect and do not compromise, interfere, pollute or devalue the ecosystem and communities that the watershed supports. Below is an example of a simple statement the can be read at the meeting or emailed as per the public hearing notice attached. *****All references to the Shuswap River Watershed Sustainability Plan should be removed from the Area F Official Community Plan. The SRWSP was created in an unfair and bias manner which excluded many stakeholder groups. The SRWSP is reflective of a small special interests group’s views only and it is not reflective of the communities’ views as a whole.***** Please take the time to show up at this meeting it will. The Notice says that all people who show up will be heard so let’s all show up. Our message is simple: We want all reference in the OCP relating to the SRWSP removed. If you cannot attend please send a letter or e-mail as indicated on the attached Public Hearing Notice. If you are sending in a submission please do it as soon as possible.
