During all week, we invite you to discover the participants of the four major Canadian regions: Pacific, Prairies, Ontario, and Quebec-Maritimes. Today, we are going to Ontario, to contemplate the work and passion of the Canadian young musicians. Congratulations!... Pour cette édition hors-concours 2020, la direction du CMC a reçu 173 vidéos de jeunes musiciens, de Vancouver à Halifax. Tout au long de la semaine, nous vous invitons à découvrir les participants des quatre grandes régions canadiennes : le Pacifique, les Prairies, l'Ontario, puis le Québec-Maritimes. Join Marie-Christine Trottier, anchor of Toute une musique , who will receive the talented violinist Isabella D’Éloize Perron, recent Révélation Classique. Isabella, long-time candidate of the Canimex Canadian Music Competition, won the Third Prize of the 2019 Stepping Stone. A not to be missed rendez-vous!

Mission accomplished! 173 young musicians, from Vancouver to Halifax, participated to the non-competitive edition of the Canimex Canadian Music Competition. From eight provinces (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia), these musicians between the ages of 7 to 25 have shared with us their repertoire for piano, violin, cello, saxophone, clarinet, flute, harp, oboe, guitar, and voice. The committee members did select t...heir favourites from each of the four major Canadian regions: Pacific, Prairies, Ontario, and then Quebec-Maritimes: it is our pleasure to present them to you! Congratulations to all the participants of this unique edition, and we thank our sponsors, partners, and volunteers, as well as the parents and teachers for their invaluable collaboration. The 2020 non-competitive edition of the Canimex Canadian Music Competition is soon coming to an end. Today, the participants will receive comments in writing on their performances, and we will soon unveil the 16 favourites of the great regions: Pacific, Prairies, Ontario and Québec-Maritimes. The individual virtual meetings with the members of the evaluation committee will take place over the next following weeks, an exceptional opportunity to exchange with the pedagogues. The members of the evaluation committee will soon be able to listen to the fruit of your work and to give you their comments in writing. You will even have the occasion to discuss with them during individual virtual meetings. Not to forget the possibility to be listed among the favourites of this special edition! For the ...7-10 and 11-14 years old categories, the evaluation committee is composed of Carole Sirois, Jacob Caines, Naomi Woo, Brett Kinsgbury and Gordon Fitzell. For the 15-18 and 19-25 years old (30 years old for voice) categories, the evaluation committee is composed of Sibylle Marquart, Richard Turp, Joy Yeh, Jamie Syer and David Hetherington. Violonist Isabella D’Éloize Perron named Révélation Radio-Canada classique! Third prize of the 2019 Stepping Stone of the Canimex - Canadian music Competition, Isabella is a long time candidate of the CMC. Winning a first place during her very first participation in 2007, and then a Grand Prize for the 11-14 years old category in 2015, she has also distinguished herself the same year on the international scene by winning the second prize of the Klein International Competition for strings.
