Last week, we released a letter to the community urging your support of our health care system during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please consider the following actio...ns: 1) Understand the severity of the situation. COVID-19 is real, and is in Chatham-Kent. 2) Follow lockdown protocols. Follow Public Health Guidelines. 3) If you feel sick or unwell, call your family doctor or primary care provider first. If you do not have a family doctor, you can call Telehealth Ontario to speak with a registered nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by phoning 1-866-797-0000.
Sharing this important message from our hospital partners. #staysafe this holiday season.

We all know that this holiday season is different. It is tempting to order online for our gifts this year but don’t forget to take a look around our community and see all of the amazing locally owned stores. By supporting local we can build our communities and feel good about our purchases from Canadian-owned and ethically sourced products. Shopping local can allow you to re-connect to our loved ones by rediscovering their tastes in gifts and tighten bonds between business... owners and the people they serve. If you are feeling stressed, anxious, or disconnected this holiday season, CMHA Lambton Kent is here for you. If you are in need of immediate assistance, please call the CMHA Mental Health First Response Service, available 24/7 at 1-800-307-4319 (Sarnia Lambton) and 1-866-299-7447 (Chatham Kent). #MentalHealthMatters #FeelGoodFriday #ShopLocal

This week’s #FeelGoodFriday theme is creating a vision board! Start the New Year fresh with a vision board. This is a great way to plan out the new year and help you envision what you’d like your 2021 to look like. Gather up any images from magazines, photos or art that represent your life goals and create a collage. Creating a vision board can help you figure out what’s really important to you for this new year and can help to increase self-esteem and mindfulness while decr...easing anxiety and fatigue. We know 2020 was a hard year and we are looking forward to 2021. If you ever feel like you need assistance, or you are feeling overwhelmed or anxious about the year ahead, it is never too early to reach out for help. Contact CMHA Lambton Kent at: 519-436-6100 (Chatham Kent) 519-337-5411 (Sarnia Lambton). Today is the Transgender Day of Remembrance, an annual observance that honours the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. CMHA Lambton Kent stands with others in remembering those whose lives have been lost, whose families and loved ones have been hurt, and those who advocate for a safer path ahead. #TDOR2020

For this #FeelGoodFriday we are encouraging you to try mindfulness meditation. Meditation is the act of paying attention to the present moment and helps us focus and re-direct our thoughts. It’s a great opportunity to take a break from our fast-paced life and daily stressors and truly connect with the hear-and-now. There are many free mindfulness apps that you can download right on your phone or easily access online at any time. Take some time to be #mindful today!

Need an idea of how you can Pay it Forward to someone in your community? Tune in to 99.9 FM The Fox to hear about how you can nominate someone you think deserves flowers and to #FeelGood.
